Fish Out of Water is a 501c3 non-profit organization that seeks to advance education and training among interested individuals to incude those who are preparing for college, unemployed, underemployed and/or seeking career transitions. FO2W subscribes to the belief that if you give a man a fish he eats for a day but TEACH him to fish and he eats a life-time. Organizational goals include:
- Training individuals utilizing interactive and relevant instructional technologies.
- Engage participants in structured age-appropriate wrap-around support services.
- Assessing each individual to determine social, academic, vocational and personal needs.
- Coach individuals to build esteem and confidence in their ability to become self-actualized.
- Hook individuals on the concept that self-actualization through education and training is a positive alternative to poverty.
Our team consists of industry professionals who have years of experience in education, human resource development, military service, and staffing. All our passionate about assisting individuals realize their full potential through career and self development. Updates coming soon.
Fish Out of Water will provide one high school senior a $500 scholarship in honor of the service provided by retired Science Teacher Mary Cogdell Corbett.
